Rob Baratta

Former VC, product manager, and serial founder turned engineer.
Building at the intersection of AI and business.

Rob's Journey

Most engineers start coding in college and spend years learning business the hard way. Rob did it backwards—and that's his superpower.

Rob started in business school at UNC Wilmington, winning three major competitions including the 2015 Business Plan Competition. But he didn't want to just study business—he wanted to understand how money really moves.

At Seahawk Innovation Fund as a VC Associate, he spent two years analyzing deals, building financial models, and learning what makes investors write checks. After seeing hundreds of pitches, he understood why most fail: great tech with no business model, or great business model with no technical execution.

As Product Manager at Sportgait, he shipped HIPAA-compliant medical applications, learning how to translate user needs into technical requirements and navigate complex regulatory environments.

Co-founding Lykewyze brought it all together. The team built an AI-powered social lead generation system that delivered 200+ qualified leads per month to legal and healthcare clients. After raising $900k and hiring a team, Rob learned the hardest lesson: ideas are worthless without technical execution.

So he learned to code. Not just dabbling—deep, production-level engineering. Building Web3 protocols at Baratta Technology, backend systems at JPG, and eventually a Solana trading platform that generates 5-figure MRR.

Today, Rob uses AI to combine everything he's learned. He architects like a CTO, prioritizes like a PM, thinks like a founder, and codes like a senior engineer—all at 10x speed.

Beyond the Code

When he's not building products, you can find Rob exploring the intersection of AI and human creativity, deep-diving into emerging technologies, playing guitar, or surfing.

Rob believes the next decade will be defined by those who can leverage AI without losing the human touch—combining machine efficiency with human judgment, creativity, and empathy.

Based in the United States, Rob works with clients globally. Time zones are just numbers when you're shipping products that generate revenue 24/7.
